Paradox therapy using the PTC model is one of the newest paradoxical therapies that has been increasingly used by therapists in recent years. This article investigates the question of whether prescribing the same symptom as the main technique of this model of therapy is compatible with Islamic ethics and Sharia. This research was conducted using a qualitative-analytical method, based on which, initially, using content analysis, various questions and ambiguities about the ethical and Islamic nature of this therapy were examined and categorized. Then, a reasoning-analytical method was used to answer these questions. The findings of this research show that paradox therapy using the PTC model is not only not incompatible with Islamic ethics and Sharia, but also, due to its transdiagnostic approach without stigmatization, it is more consistent with preserving the patient's "self-respect", and it can be said that this therapy is ethical and Islamic. Some hadiths use a method similar to PTC (i.e., prescribing the same symptom) to manage anxiety.
