The present study aimed to determine the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the growth mindset scale among underachieving gifted students. The present study was descriptive-correlational and a type of psychometric study. The statistical population of this study included first-grade students of Sampad Secondary Schools in Isfahan city during the academic year 2024- 2025. From this population, 308 people were identified and referred by school staff, and all of them were included in the study. Participants responded to the research instruments, including the Growth Mindset Scale (GMS, Sigmundsson & Haga, 2024) and Irrational Beliefs Test (IBT, Jones,1986). The validity of the scale was examined using confirmatory factor analysis and concurrent validity, and the reliability of the scale was calculated using Cronbach's alpha, and temporal stability was examined using the test - retest reliability method with a 2-week interval. The results of confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the unidimensional factor structure of this scale. Negative correlations between growth mindset and excessive expectations (r= –0.43, p<0.01), self‑blame (r=–0.51, p<0.01), reaction to frustration (r=–0.32, p <0.01), problem avoidance (r=–0.59, p<0.01), and helplessness for change (r=–0.48, p<0.01) indicated the concurrent validity of the scale. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the growth mindset scale was estimated to be 0.80, and the test-retest reliability coefficient over a two‑week interval was o.84. Overall, the results indicated that the Persian version of the Growth Mindset Scale had appropriate psychometric properties in underachieving gifted students and could be used.
