Abstract: (31 Views)
The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the Unified Transdiagnostic Treatment in reducing impulsive behaviors and enhancing empathy among male students exhibiting bullying behaviors at school. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group. The statistical population consisted of all male high school students (second secondary level) in Ardabil during the 2024–2025 academic year. Following a screening process, 39 students were selected through purposive sampling and were randomly assigned to either the experimental group (n = 19) or the control group (n = 20). The experimental group received eight 75-minute sessions of the Unified Transdiagnostic Treatment. Data were collected using the School Bullying Scale (BS; Patchin & Hinduja, 2011), the Empathy Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents (EmQue-CA; Overgaauw et al., 2017), and the Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS-11; Patton et al., 1995). Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA). The findings indicated that, after controlling for pretest scores, significant differences were observed between the experimental and control groups in posttest impulsive behaviors and empathy at the p < .01 level. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Unified Transdiagnostic Treatment was effective in reducing impulsive behaviors (and their subcomponents) and enhancing empathy among students exhibiting bullying behaviors.
