The present study aimed to assess the feasibility of a group educational protocol for preventing marital infidelity and increasing marital commitment, emotional intimacy, and attitudes towards marital infidelity in conflicted couples. The present study was a semi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design and a control group with a two-month follow-up period. The statistical population of this study included conflicting couples referring to the state welfare counseling center in Bushehr since 2025-26. 32 people (16 couples) were selected through purposive sampling and randomly assigned to two experimental (8 couples) and control (8 couples) groups. The Personal Assessing Intimacy (PAI; Schaefer & Olson, 1981) and Attitudes Toward Infidelity Scale (ATIS; Whatley, 2008) were used to collect data. Couples in the experimental group underwent intervention as a group for 10 sessions. Data analysis was performed using repeated measures analysis of variance. The findings showed that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test of emotional intimacy and attitude towards marital infidelity in the experimental and control groups (P<0.05); however, there was no significant difference between the post-test and follow-up mean in the experimental group, and the results were maintained in the follow-up period (P<0.05). Overall, it can be concluded that the educational protocol for preventing marital infidelity and increasing marital commitment had an effective role in emotional intimacy and attitude towards marital infidelity in conflicted couples.
