Current research aimed to determine the effectiveness of Positive Parenting Group Training on parental self-efficacy and children’s behavioral Problems in female-headed households. The research method was a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test-post-test and control group design. The statistical population included all female-headed households with children in Khodabandeh city, Iran. in 2025. 40 mothers were selected using the convenience sampling method and randomly assigned to two experimental groups (20 participants)  and a control group (20participants). The experimental group received 8 sessions of 90 minutes of the Sanders Positive Parenting Program once a week. Parenting Self-Efficacy Scale (PSAM) by Domka et al. (1996) and the Parent Rating Scale (CPRS) by Connors (1970) were used to collect data. Data analysis was performed using multivariate analysis of covariance. Based on the findings, it was shown that by controlling for the pretest effect, there was a significant difference at the 0.01 level between the mean post-test of self-efficacy and children's behavioral problems in the two groups. Considering these results, it can be the Positive Parenting Group Training can be proposed as an effective intervention to reduce the behavioral problems in children of head-of-household mothers.
