Abstract: (4 Views)
The purpose of the present study was to predict Working Memory Performance based on Tolerance of Ambiguity and Attitudes Toward Learning. The research method was descriptive -correlation. The statistical population included high school students of Tehran City in 2021-2022, that among them 385 students selected as samples by multi-stage cluster sampling. Research questionnaires included: working memory (WMQ; Nejati, 2013), the Attitude Scale (AS; Eiken, 1979) and ambiguity tolerance (MSTAT; McLain, 1993).Data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression. The reaserch results showed that there was a positive relationship between tolerance for ambiguity, enjoyment of learning, and the value and importance of learning with working memory Performance (P<0.01), and a negative relationship between fear of learning and working memory Performance (P<0.01). The results also showed that tolerance for ambiguity, enjoyment of learning, fear of learning, and the value and importance of learning can predict 39 percent of the variance in working memory Performance (P<0.001). Overall, the results of the present study showed that tolerance for ambiguity, enjoyment of learning, the value and importance of learning, and the fear of learning can predict students' working memory Performance And they can be used to improve working memory and, consequently, academic progress of students.
