Abstract: (47 Views)
The present study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Persian version of the Childhood Emotional Abuse Questionnaire among Azad University students. This correlational study employed factor analysis, and the target population consisted of Azad University students in Gorgan in 2024. Using the Klein rule and convenience sampling, 370 participants were selected. Data were collected using the Childhood Emotional Abuse Questionnaire (REACH; Goodall & Sourikar, 2023), the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ; Bernstein et al., 2003), and the Levels of Self-Criticism Scale (LOSC; Thompson & Zaroff, 2004). Analyses included confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), Cronbach’s alpha, and Pearson correlation coefficients. Content validity ratio (CVR) and content validity index (CVI) scores exceeding 0.75 and 0.83 indicated adequate content validity. CFA results confirmed the two-factor structure of the questionnaire and demonstrated good model fit. Convergent validity was supported by significant correlations between the subscales of the Childhood Emotional Abuse Questionnaire and the CTQ and LOSC subscales (p<0.05). The two identified factors, Threat and Humiliation, showed Cronbach’s alpha coefficients ranging from 0.87 to 0.91, with an overall scale reliability of 0.93. These findings indicate that the Persian version of the questionnaire is both reliable and valid, making it a suitable instrument for counseling and psychological assessment in Iran.
